I am extremely frustrated that he won. I think people seemed to 'jump on the band wagon' when they got excited over him. Everyone seemed to think he was the man for the job just because he had the ability to be the first black President. So far he has said he will do a lot of things and done absolutely nothing. Evident by the flak thrown his way after receiving that Noble Peace Prize. (And no, disliking him and the fact he is President does not make me racist. People who think that also frustrate me)

my bestfriend is actually in Brazil atm with 5 other New Zealanders
Three went to Brazil & the other two went somewhere else, icant quiet remember.
But sooo far, my bestfriends family tell me she is LOVING Brazil, and the Brazilians think she is Brazilian (not Maori)
who would have thought some girl from tiny tiny Tolaga Bay would be whisked off to Brazil for a whole year? AMAZING!

About 10 years ago I started using Depo Provera as I thought this would be the "easiest" option for me and all my friends were also doing the depo.
Within the first year I went from 75kg to a whooping 98kg!! (admittedly burgers may have also played a small part)
I also bleed non stop for 5 weeks strait at one stage until i went to see the doctor who gave me another injection to stop it.
It was after that I decided to come off it. My periods went from being regular to once every few months to once a year after that.
My friends have takin from 4-6years on average to be able to get pregnant since stopping depo........my partner and I however eight years on and still are trying to concieve:(

All I say is, I know its the easy thing to do, but please please please read all you can about Depo Provera before jumping in.There are sooo many other contraceptions you should atleast consider before this one.
An "easy" decision now could cost you years of heartache and sleepless nights later on with fertility issues.

I decided to try the Depo Provera about 7 years ago. In 9 months i went from 60 kgs to a massive 90 kgs!!
The side effect of weight gain was so massive i was amazed i was never told this may happen.

Are you aged 13-18 and are enrolled at school? Take a short survey and go in the draw to win a $25 Visa Prezzy Voucher.

This survey is a Massey University Project that is aiming to help find out more about the mental life of New Zealand teens, and how we can them can help them when they feel down, preventing things like low self-esteem, depression and suicide.

The questions included in the survey will ask you about how often you experience different emotions, what you think about when you're thinking about yourself, how you feel about you, and how life has been for you in the past six months. You do not have to type or describe anything, just click options that apply to you.

I have Borderline Personality disorder, aniety and depression, at the moment i live in residential care and i am studying at CPIT Tourism and hospitality. Its so hard to get up everyday go to school study and do exam. anyone else int he same boat??

even know i fill like ending my life. which i could possibly do tonight. and there is no one for me to get help from, because they always cal the cops, io hate cops.

Wow. Its been so long since i last wrote in here!! Like Years!

Things have chnaged dramatically.
SO DRAMATICALLY.

One thing i stress on is the underlying fact that depression did not leave for me. Its still there. I moved cities, changed schools, everything i possibly could change surrounding me, i did. In some ways it helped, but the underlaying of it all i realised, was siitting here in my head.

Its like trying to run away from debt. You can change houses, change jobs - yet you are still going to suffer the frustration and stress of the change that really needs the attention - your habits. Running away or hiding is the key to suffering in that darkness, running away will always bring you back to reality - and hiding will only let you shiver and dwell in its darkness.

Since my last entry on here, i have rebelled in negative coping stragedies, that either took me back further than where i started, or worsened my situation. I made a HUGE mistake in turning to drugs for the hiding places and the running away to 'higher places'. It took the death of the person i fell in love with, to awaken my stupidity and face the real world. Fac myself.

I viewed life as 'shit happens' - until shit started happening.

I STRESS the importance of self help habits to be healthy stragedies. Cutting only led me to mutilation to a higher level, and the aura of someone who was 'special'. I bear the scars as punishment, i cant get away from it. Drinking will only drown your sorrows and sobering up is like hitting the wall of reality - you cant run from it. Marijuana took the streaming thoughts and anxiousness away, but replaced me with a unmotivated me with a downbuzz, empty wallet and countless debt from laziness and lack of importance.

The worst coping mechanism i took on, ruined my life, worsened my depression and took the life of the closest to my heart. It was a selfish decision and i struggle with the long term affects to this day. I thought coke would keep me happy, keep me awake - sabotage my eating ( im anorexic/bulimic) it did all, for a an extreme high price - not just literally. ANd there is no refund.

I guess i just want people to be aware, especially about drugs - it isnt a way to cope. I can be talking about prescription in the same way. Drugs are great to steal the present from you, put you to sleep or to make you feel invincible. Yet reality has a habit of returning - and when it does, the worlds darker, less enjoyable and your more likely to live in the drug ridden world till it eventually kills you.

Life is given only once.
Make use with it, dont use it.

Depression/mental llness resides in your mind. Like a drug. It can confuse you. Make you anxious. Keep you up all night. Reduce or increase your appetite. It can send to to dark places, bury you in thick heavy sand. It can twist your emotions and toy with your moods. And with immense overdosage, It can kill you.

Take control, get deep into yourself and ask why you must feel like you are. The meaning of life has no meaning without life itself.

Stay alive, stay focussed. Stop running away from yourself. If its in your head, only you can deal with it. Noone else.

Thanks heaps for that, it is definitely an important topic. It's awful that you and those boys' family and friends had to go through that - let alone the boys themselves. We are working on a mental health issue later this year, and I'll definitely put teen suicide on the list of topics.

i was thinking maybe you could do an article on teen suacide and depression and where to go for help. i know it's not a very nice topic but i think it's relavant to us teenagers. two of my friends killed themselves last year and they must'nt have knowen where to turn for help. that has changed me alot and everyone else who knew those boys and i never want to have that happen again. i dont want anyone else thinking they have no where to turn and no one to talk to.

the charts are supposed to be done on a % of play vs sales....yet this is where it gets dodgy,
sales = how many copies of albums are shipped to stores, which arent actually sales at all. So
when you read that some hotshot band has shipped 2 million copies, that means theres 2 million
copies sitting in shops, they arent sold at all - but the major record companies will tick them off
as having left their warehouse so they must have been sold. its all a blatant con really...and
don't even get me started on airplay.....

Another thing that has bothered me is the Music charts Independent or top 40.
I might be wrong but how does a unheard of artist all of a sudden appear in the charts ?...I know how its supposed to work (based on consumer sales) but does it really work like that ? how can it ? when a newly released artist all of a sudden is charting, yet the Album has just hit the stores ? did we all just go out and buy the album that day ?

Am I wrong ?

A examination of how it actually works would be a cool article.

yep love Diesel Phoenix also there is a new Rock band in Wellington 4 Islander guys playing Rock called "Kabanaz" I have seen them live a few times and man they are good......If this is the current way NZ music is going its gonna be amazing.

Another issue is the plethora of music on the net with the Major labels scrambling to find ways of grabbing the internet dollar has it all just become a large mess ? should the CD single come back into stores with links to that bands site, would that make it easier/convenient to find new music ?
